DESCRIPTION
The Klein Tools Coax Explorer
®
Plus verifi es proper continuity of
F-connector terminated cables and maps/identifi es the location
of outlets. The separate color-coded test terminators allow
for cable runs between two different locations to be tested and
mapped. The tester displays cable status as shorted, open, or
good using LED for faults and individual LEDs for pass notice
and remote color.
• One of four green LEDs for a good cable plus
remote color code.
• Green for open.
• Red for shorted.
Note: The tester has no replaceable parts and is permanently
sealed. The tester should be disposed of properly when
the battery is depleted.
TESTING/MAPPING CABLES
1. Connect a test remote (one of four) to one end of the
cable. Use a coupler (not included) if required to connect
the test remote to an F-plug. If mapping, distribute
remaining remotes to various locations.
2. Connect Coax Explorer
®
Plus at the top connector to the
other end of the cables at the central location.
3. Press the button below the LED. One LED will turn on.
If the cable passes, one of the four green LEDs will light,
revealing the cable identity. If the cable has failed, the LED
will show the problem. Results are displayed while button
is held down.
TESTING AN UNINSTALLED CABLE
1. Connect the bottom terminal of the Coax Explorer
®
Plus to
one end of the cable. This is a red #1 remote.
2. Connect the top terminal of the Coax Explorer Plus to the
other end of the cable.
3. Press the button below the LED. One LED will turn on. If
the cable passes, the #1 PASS LED will light. If the cable
has failed, the LED will show the problem.
